Cette ann\u00e9e, le district du Canda francophone fut repr\u00e9sent\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La cohorte 2021 des \u00e9minents \u00e9ducateurs lasalliens (Distinguished Lasallian Educators) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 honor\u00e9s lors de la s\u00e9ance d\u2019ouverture de la 48e conf\u00e9rence annuelle Huether Lasallian le jeudi 18 novembre 2021 \u00e0 Baltimore, Maryland. Les \u00ab&nbsp;DLE&nbsp;\u00bb repr\u00e9sentent les districts de l\u2019est de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Nord, du Canada francophone, du Midwest et de San Francisco &#8211; Nouvelle-Orl\u00e9ans. Les r\u00e9cipiendaires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s par leur sup\u00e9rieurs et reconnus pour leur travail exceptionnel qui touche le c\u0153ur et l\u2019esprit de leurs \u00e9l\u00e8ves d\u2019une mani\u00e8re durable et qui fait ainsi une diff\u00e9rence dans le monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voici les laur\u00e9ats de cette ann\u00e9e:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>DISTINGUISHED LASALLIAN EDUCATORS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>DISTRICT OF EASTERN NORTH AMERICA<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/149420097.v2.pressablecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/OToole-731x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30216\" width=\"183\" height=\"256\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Michael O\u2019Toole<\/strong><br>Principal Emeritus, Faculty Member<br>La Salle College High School<br>Wyndmoor, PA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael O\u2019Toole\u2019s stellar educational career has included 40 years of service at La Salle College High School. As teacher, department chair, curriculum director, vice president and for the past nine years as principal, his guiding principles have been rooted in Lasallian pedagogy and spirituality. Some of his major accomplishments have included the establishment of a Lasallian Mission and Ministry office, numerous initiatives in academic and technology areas, and progressive work with multiple faith-based and social justice-oriented organizations. However, his most important contribution has been as a champion of diversity, equity and inclusion long before the contemporary movements in educational institutions began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI think anybody that does work like this, the work is the most important thing. Awards are nice. They\u2019re rather the spice that accentuates the work. I think there\u2019s lots of people who have helped me with this at my school, the community with whom I work, and of course my wife who had to see me go out the door many Saturday mornings a long time ago to help get started the community scholars program. I thank all of those people. This is an award that really honors lots of help that I\u2019ve gotten from a lot of other people.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/149420097.v2.pressablecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Wiggins-731x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30217\" width=\"183\" height=\"256\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Travis Wiggins<\/strong><br>Community Outreach Liaison<br>Tides Family Services<br>West Warwick, RI<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travis Wiggins has served at Tides Family Services for the past 22 years, primarily as a community outreach liaison and caseworker. His work, lived as his vocation, at Tides has been dedicated to promoting social justice and inclusion for the most disadvantaged and marginalized youth of Rhode Island. Much like the Founder\u2019s work at St. Yon, Travis has made it his life\u2019s work to accompany young men and women in the juvenile justice system from a path of despair and near hopelessness to one full of promise and potential. He has inspired countless youth and has made a profound difference in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019m a little shy about it. To me, after doing this for so many years, you\u2019re appreciative, you love that you\u2019re making an impact in some way. It\u2019s amazing. It\u2019s a feeling like, \u2018Wow! You? Of all people? Why you?!\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/149420097.v2.pressablecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Wilby-732x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30218\" width=\"183\" height=\"256\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Mary Wilby<\/strong><br>Associate Professor of Nursing, School of Nursing and Health Services<br>La Salle University<br>Philadelphia, PA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Mary Wilby\u2019s distinguished clinical and academic career is only outshone by her passionate commitment to the heritage and mission of Lasallian education. She has served the La Salle University community and beyond, meeting people where they are with their health needs. She has volunteered her time and expertise to serve a Lasallian educational community in Haiti. She has supported the Lasallian Women of Hope project to address pressing personal health necessities of women. Recently she has been a leader in addressing the COVID-19 challenges of the university community. Her compassionate contributions simply have made an immeasurable difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt really is a great honor for me. It seems strange because I\u2019m being recognized for doing things I love to do, that I would do a million times over again if I could. En tant qu\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve, animateur, enseignant, p\u00e8re et administrateur scolaire, il s\u2019est laiss\u00e9 absorber et profond\u00e9ment engag\u00e9 par les valeurs lasalliennes en \u00e9ducation. \u00c9tendant son engagement au-del\u00e0 de ses minist\u00e8res, il a si\u00e9g\u00e9 pendant 13 ans au comit\u00e9 permanent de la mission \u00e9ducative lasallienne \u00e0 Rome et il est aujourd\u2019hui conseiller en communication et formateur du district, et membre du Conseil de l\u2019\u00e9ducation lasallienne r\u00e9gionale et de l\u2019\u00e9quipe des communications de la RELAN. Il continue de se consacrer \u00e0 partager le charisme lasallien avec les personnes impliqu\u00e9es dans le r\u00e9seau lasallien de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Nord Fran\u00e7ais et au-del\u00e0..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cCela est pour moi une reconnaissance du coeur que j&rsquo;ai mis \u00e0 travailler en \u00e9ducation et pour le plus grand b\u00e9n\u00e9fice des jeunes\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/149420097.v2.pressablecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Andre%CC%81-Dubuc-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30124\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brother Andr\u00e9 Dubuc, FSC<\/strong><br>Volunteer Educator<br>Centre Lasallien Saint-Michel<br>Montr\u00e9al, QC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fr\u00e8re Andr\u00e9 Dubuc, \u00e2g\u00e9 maintenant de 86 ans, toujours actif dans la mission \u00e9ducative lasallienne du Qu\u00e9bec, est la preuve vivante qu\u2019aucun travail, m\u00eame le plus ardu, ne peut \u00e9teindre la d\u00e9termination et la foi qui se vivent au quotidien. \u00c9ducateur dans l\u2019\u00e2me et humaniste de c\u0153ur, Fr\u00e8re Andr\u00e9 a rempli plusieurs fonctions et excell\u00e9 dans chacune d\u2019elles pendant les 60 ans de sa vie religieuse. Tour \u00e0 tour enseignant, directeur, missionnaire, visiteur auxiliaire et b\u00e9n\u00e9vole aupr\u00e8s de jeunes d\u00e9crocheurs, on lui doit notamment toute une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019associ\u00e9s qui, \u00e0 leur tour, propagent l\u2019excellence lasallienne en \u00e9ducation dans le District du Canada francophone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>MIDWEST DISTRICT<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/149420097.v2.pressablecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Livermore-732x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30214\" width=\"183\" height=\"256\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Melissa Livermore<\/strong><br>Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs<br>Holy Family Catholic High School<br>Victoria, MN<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melissa Livermore began her career at Holy Family Catholic High School in 2001 and quickly embraced the Lasallian mission when Holy Family joined the Lasallian community in 2004. She completed the Lasallian Social Justice Institute and quickly applied those principles inside and outside her classroom, offering generous opportunities for students to receive additional help and creating service opportunities, which included initiating international service trips to Ethiopian twinned schools. In her current role as assistant principal for academic affairs, her leadership and zeal for relationship-building have been critical components in successfully offering online learning for the final 2019-2020 term and in-person learning for the entire 2020-2021 school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI am very honored to receive this award. I feel that I have an excellent team behind me, so it\u2019s not an award that I earned on my own. I\u2019m grateful for those at my school, my administrative team with John Dols, Mike Brennan and Matt Thuli, and then we have the best teachers on the planet and a fabulous staff supporting us.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/149420097.v2.pressablecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Wood-731x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30219\" width=\"183\" height=\"256\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chris Wood<\/strong><br>Theology Teacher and Assistant Campus Minister<br>De La Salle Institute<br>Chicago, IL<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris Wood has been embodying the Lasallian spirit since he was a student at Archbishop O\u2019Hara High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Before joining the staff at De La Salle Institute, Chris spent time in formation as a Christian Brother and graduated from Lewis University. For the past 30 years, he has graciously guided his students to discover God\u2019s goodness, and he models compassion in everything he does. Often cited as a favorite teacher, students are impacted by the way in which Chris allows the Spirit to work through him. A master teacher and a trusted colleague with an open door, colleagues regularly lean on Chris for his wisdom, humor and calm manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cVery humbled, first of all. It\u2019s been my life\u2019s pleasure, my life\u2019s calling. I feel very privileged to answer the call of John Baptist de La Salle and continue his work and the work of the Brothers. Coming from a Christian Brothers school and a Christian Brothers product, they were men that guided and formed me and helped me become the man I am, and I feel like I\u2019m giving back.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>DISTRICT OF SAN FRANCISCO NEW ORLEANS<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/149420097.v2.pressablecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Molinelli-731x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30215\" width=\"183\" height=\"256\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cathy Molinelli<\/strong><br>Vice Principal<br>Saint Mary\u2019s College High School<br>Berkeley, CA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cathy Molinelli has faithfully served Saint Mary\u2019s College High School in Berkeley, California, for the past 16 years. Cathy embodies the Lasallian Core Principles in her current role as vice principal. They are at the forefront of everything she does. Cathy fosters a sense of belonging by cultivating a trusting and healthy environment for her colleagues and students alike. One colleague commented, \u201cCathy is the heart of our community, we are ever grateful for her Lasallian-inspired work ethic, her kindness and her compassion that model for us what the founder envisioned for the Brothers of the Christian Schools.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019m incredibly honored to be recognized for the work I do at Saint Mary\u2019s.&nbsp;I find great joy in creating and implementing programs that are inspired by our shared mission of creating relationships that change a child\u2019s life.&nbsp;It\u2019s a team effort and I work with amazing colleagues who are creative and inspiring.
